50. Australia
There is an ease about being in Australia:
It is Country knowing I belong regardless of my skin.
And the inexplicable sense of rightness I have
when I step off that plane from journeys far
and smell the air that is Australia,
and walk the very earth that is me.

Thank you to all of you who have followed me on my 50 words travels over the last year, for your encouragement and enthusiasm. I hope you have had some laughs, wondered a little, and maybe had some tears as well, remembering your own journeys through the lens of my words. I feel that by recording this little autobiography, I am all ready for Chapter 2. How exciting to look forward to adventures new and places unknown. I can’t wait.
Travel well,
Julie
Wow, this a very interesting project, a combination of a travelogue and poetry, Sadly, I got to discover it on the day you ended the project. lol. got to back track and read your previous works!
Thanks Riley – so glad you found me, even if it is so late! Hope you enjoy some of the posts retrospectively – I can’t decide if it’s a travelogue, poetry, a travel anthology, an autobiography or just my words and memories! Good luck with your thesis and other projects! J
Ahh that is kind of sad, Now what do we have to transport us away when we can’t trave!?
Well, Janine – I guess I will have to try and inspire you with the photos which go along with the 50 words – hopefully all pulled together in a book. But then again, I am sure you have your own 50 words inside you for all the wonderful places you have been and lived in, too! Jx
Keep blogging because I love it 😀 http://postcard-travel-guide.blogspot.com/
Thankyou Mircea! I wish I still had a postcard from each of the countries to send to you for your project, as I must have sent hundreds of them over the years – my mum kept all of the ones I sent to her, and they read like a travel diary in themselves! J
I really like this one Julie, pity it will be the last 😦
A beautiful #50- the collection would be lovely in a book! Excited for chapter 2!
Thanks so much Michelle – and for the vote of support about a book – let’s hope I can get some publishers to agree with you!
A finale worthy of goosebumps. Your words have described a feeling I struggled to define. Thank you, thank you.
Welcome home, Lydia. Jx
I still think people can continue reading this so I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! Congrats! 🙂 http://wp.me/p2cqTL-iC
Wow! Thank you so much Michelle – that means a lot. Time for me to pay it forward too. Travel well. J
