47. SINGAPORE (Isetan Palace, 1st Sunday of the Month @ 610pm)
They’re changing the guards at Isetan Palace, and somehow, Glen Miller is playing with Alice.
Pomp and circumstance with a stirring of showbiz glitz.
Curiouser and curiouser …..
Singapore’s tightly coralled residents ooh! and ahh! to the Westpoint-style gun throwing and foot stamping show,
Singapore’s ‘new tradition’.
Jazz hands and all!

Fascinating! Why have I never met anyone from Singapore? Do the Singaporeans not emigrate?
Hi Carol – Well, they have one of the best education systems in the world, and despite being jampacked and pretty tightly managed by a pseudo-democratic government, have a pretty good quality of life, so I guess not much of an incentive to leave! Conversely, they are LOTS of Aussies, Brits etc working there.
I love your posts! This one was so fun- my interest is piqued! I must go there! 🙂
Thanks Michelle – we have a mutual admiration society! I think you would find the heat and humidity of Singapore a real contrast to the nordic winters you have been traveling in of late! J
