31. Spain (Barcelona, 2007)
Today I stop and stare and climb within the fantastical spirals of the Sagrada Familia.
The passion of a crooked man,
building his twisted confections and crippled buttresses,
venerating his God.
Reaching beyond a mortal lifetime,
the loving hands of his disciples raise Gaudi’s utopian vision to grasp Catalan skies.

Beautiful – and sounds so right, from what I have read about Gaudi, but I have never been to Barcelona. You are teasing me with all the places I have never been!
Thankyou Carol – I was so awed by his quirky, gravity defying vision – and Barcelona is full of his works – buildings, apartments, the Sagrada Familia, Park Guelle. I can’t recommend it more highly as a go-to destination. Oh – and the food is fantastic too – what more could you want?!
Wow jules so many wonderful adjectives!!!! The sense of his time and space is very evocative.
